Bali Water Protection or BWP, is our call Bali’s spiritual, political, economical and civil leadership as well as to all visitors and residents to take responsibility in addressing the province’s rapidly dismissing freshwater supply

How does the BWP work?

  1. Technical planning, testing and engagement; field testing of location specific well design for island-wide strategic recharge strategy. Prepare training tools and campaign materials

  2. Adopt Wells; Train construction teams in recharge well methodology and construct 136 recharge wells in priority locations

  3. Adopt River: Launch public educational program in 132 schools and establish network of river steward schools

  4. Adopt Water; launch mass media campaign in Bali and adjacent island, establish local culture of water awareness

2013 | BWP program green light from government

2015 | Bali field assessments to identified critical focus areas, BWP endorsed by Bali Governor and partnership established with Politeknik Negeri Bali (PNB)

2016 | BWP Pioneer program launches

2018 | Start of building 136 recharge wells in critical areas, aim to launch schools program in 132 schools and widespread awareness program
